This privacy policy sets out how Abbie’s Army uses and protects any information that you give us either directly, indirectly or when you use our website.

Abbie’s Army is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website or via email or our associated third parties (ie JustGiving), then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

 

We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from June 2024.

 

When you give it to us directly

We may collect personal information about you when you interact with us (e.g. by phone or online), register with us, enquire about our activities, make a donation (Including via JustGiving, Paypal, Stripe etc), Participate in an event, apply to volunteer with us, or otherwise provide us with your personal information for example via social media platforms.

ONLY your name and contact information including email address can be recorded when messaging directly through the website. In those instances, this represents consent and a 'legitimate interest' to contact. We will however always keep data use proportionate, have a minimal privacy impact, and be sure those would not be surprised or likely to object.

This information in particular may only occasionally be used to send future emails about our recent news or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided. We will ensure that your information is completely secure, there will be no unauthorised access or disclosure of information we collect from any online enquiry.

We will operate an 'opt out' policy and you can of course be removed from any records for future mailing by contacting us at any time.

Abbie's Army does not have the resource to operate any 'direct marketing' campaigns (postal or online) to a complete database.

Your information may also be shared with us by independent event organisers, for example the various ’challenge’ type sites that we are registered with to allow our selection for charity support.

These independent third parties will only contact us when you have indicated that you wish to support Abbie’s Army with your consent.

Our website may contain links to other websites and social media pages of interest.

However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over external websites. Therefore, we cannot be held responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement.

Controlling your personal information

You may choose to restrict any collection or use of your personal information by writing to or emailing us.

We will not sell, or distribute your personal information to third parties or send you any promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting.

If you believe that any information, we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct or remove any information found to be incorrect.
