Lazy Boys European Bike Ride. 26th August 2012

On the 26th of August, a support crew of 5 and team of 8 cyclists including Abbie’s Daddy Ray!! will depart from Toulon in France and spend five days cycling to Barcelona in Spain. This is a total distance of 660 kms or over 400 miles!!  This means they need to cover 80 miles a day at altitude and in the heat! Just to add to the challenge they have decided to take the whole show on the road with tents too!

There will be a leaving party with live music to see the boys on their way at the Dukes Head pub in Hamstreet on the 24th July before they hit the road and head for Toulon in the vans.

These amazing people are doing this all in support of Abbie's Army, to raise vital funds and awareness for the Children's Brain Tumour Research Centre (CBTRC) at the University of Nottingham. We have already worked in conjunction with the Toulon2Barca team at the Hamstreet Country Fair at the beginning of June which was a great success raising £812.21 for their sponsorship page.

A training blog, profiles of the cyclists taking part and a day by day plan of the route in full detail can be found on their website.

They are already spreading the word for CBTRC by wearing the Abbie's Army jerseys as they go about their training. Most recently they completed the Great Kent Bike Run at 60 miles followed by the London to Brighton  a distance of 54 miles all the details of these can be found on their training blog online but all finished with earned chips on the beach!! ...and the jerseys look fantastic! You're doing great, Well done guys!

Please go online now as sponsorship is vital and support this HUGE once in a lifetime charity challenge for such a worthy cause at
