THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER - #DressDownDonate
A simple dress up/down day to support 'GOING GOLD' for childhood cancer awareness!
This September is a UK 1st! The FIRST time we can join in and become part of a GLOBAL voice for children with cancer.
Few people know that the awareness ribbon for childhood cancer is ‘GOLD’ and so we have a campaign for the duration of the month entitled ‘GOLDEN DAYZ’
We would like any groups, schools, colleges, clubs and workplaces to show their support. Simply nominate a day during the month for a minimum donation of £1 per child/person in support of childhood cancer.
100% of all funds raised will go directly to researchers at the Institute of Cancer Research investigating the deadliest high grade brain tumours in children.
1 in 600 children in the UK before the age of 15 will be diagnosed with a cancer of some kind, thankfully this is considered rare BUT 31 families every week learn that cancer is the future for their child.
1 CHILD DIES EVERY 3 DAYS FROM A BRAIN TUMOUR IN THE UK
Paediatric brain cancer has now overtaken leukemia as the BIGGEST cancer killer of children in the UK. The brain is the most common site for a solid tumour to develop in a child and yet research is terribly underfunded.
500 CHILDREN A YEAR ARE DIAGNOSED.
Today it remains that for some rare children’s cancers there are NO survivors at all.
Please join us in September and if you can't dress up or down why not run your own event?? instead try a coffee morning, cake sale or even just give your loose change it can all help!! Choose a date for your ‘Golden Dayz’ helping provide a brighter outlook for children diagnosed with the most fatal children’s brain cancers.
